Job Description

ABOUT GENERATION:

At Generation, we believe in the power of employment to change lives. We are a global nonprofit organization that supports adults to achieve economic mobility through employment. Generation trains and places adult learners of all ages into careers that are otherwise inaccessible, working in partnership with governments, employers, and other system actors. We also conduct original research and share data insights on high-priority global workforce transition topics to inform decision-making by workforce system stakeholders. Launched in 2015, Generation comprises a global hub (Generation You Employed, or GYE) and a network of in-country affiliates. To date, the network has 150,000+ graduates and 23,000+ employers across 50 professions and 17 countries.

When learners join Generation, 91% are unemployed, of which nearly half are long-term unemployed.  Three months after completing our program, graduates have a 78% job placement rate, rising to 88% within six months. Of our employed graduates, 79% are hired by repeat employers who have previously hired Generation graduates, and 89% are in jobs directly related to the profession for which we have trained them. Employed graduates immediately earn an average of 3-4X their previous earnings.  Two to five years after graduation, 77% of our alumni from upper-middle income countries continue to meet their daily financial needs and 63% can save for the future. To date, Generation’s global graduates have earned more than $1.9 billion in wages. Generation graduates typically have a secondary school background, 52% are female, 28% have dependents, and the majority identify with underrepresented communities in their country.

Position Overview:

Generation is in the midst of a period of growth and innovation, with plans over the next 18 months to dramatically increase the number of people we serve, deepen our existing partnerships around the world, and expand and enhance the global tools, curriculum, and offerings that help drive our mission forward. To meet this moment, we are expanding our team with a number of exciting global and regional opportunities.

Under the guidance and review of the C&I Director, Global Curriculum & Instruction Lead, Rapid Development will lead curriculum design projects and provide strategic thought partnership for a portfolio of Generation countries designed with the express purpose of optimizing speed without unacceptable drops in quality and impact.

You will be the product lead for select curricula; thus, you will be that curricula’s most ardent ambassador, champion and critic to ensure it is positioned and designed to achieve its goals. You will also be responsible for advancing a learning agenda that will provide infrastructure moving forward, infrastructure that will accelerate the pace of development for all curriculum development projects.

As a member of our global team, you will also build capacity in yourself and others through the training of internal team members and external partners on curriculum topics. You will also develop and maintain relationships globally in order to instill network needs into curricula. Finally, you will contribute to strategic projects as needed to continuously innovate on our methodology as it relates to rapid curriculum development.

This role is suited for an experienced leader in curriculum development who is excited to be at the cutting-edge of workforce development - particularly for roles requiring digital skills - and to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, global environment. This leader should also feel energized and inspired by the possibilities of AI in curriculum design and program delivery, while also staying grounded and maintaining a focus on our beneficiaries and their experience with and after our programs.

This is a Fixed-Term, remote role in which we plan to interview from mid-late May with a target start date in June, 2026.

Location:

This role is remote, with preference given to candidates based in any of our current Generation global affiliate countries. Working hours must overlap with EST by 4 hours.

With the support of our C&I Online Team, ensure programs are designed with best-in-class online tools and make the most of tools, templates and design supports available to our team.

Design and support pilot implementation for curricula; this includes but is not limited to direct interaction with instructors and program staff, creating and supporting successful feedback loops, making iterative session changes on tight schedules, supporting delivery teams with learner/staff recruitment.

Translate learnings from Rapid Development into a scalable process (including AI-powered tech innovations where needed)

Collaborate with technologists to build systems and tools needed for ongoing rapid development.

Monitor and evaluate both product and process implementation to ensure that expected quality outcomes (for learner experience, graduation rates, placement metrics) are as expected.

Relational Influence And Thought Leadership (30%)

Steadily grow in understanding of skills and knowledge used in our foundational technical curriculum through autonomous and teacher-led upskilling

Share (strategically and broadly across our network) the benefits and requirements of implementing your curricula to encourage adoption, partnership and enthusiasm; serve as both your curriculum’s fiercest champion and strictest critic in order to impact learner outcomes through adoption with global affiliates and delivery partners

Share (strategically and broadly across our network) the benefits, risks and possibilities of Rapid Development
