A Day In The Life
- Attend pre-bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates as required
- Analyze & comprehend project plans, specs, & details
- Prepare take-offs/estimated for single scope and multi-scope projects inclusive of materials, labour and equipment
- Follow up on single-scope and/or multi-scope projects
- Act as tender lead on single-scope and/or multi-scope projects
- Review contracts and quotes for accuracy
- Write up work orders
- Maintaining a directory of product suppliers
- Consult and communicate with project managers, architects, engineers and clients involved at all levels of a project
- Stay informed of all new materials and techniques by attending material manufacturer’s trade shows, seminars, etc.
- Participate in initial handoff meetings
- Attend autopsies on completed projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers including client appreciation outings
- Consult, communicate and build rapport with internal departments and clients
- Visit job sites and perform Estimating Site Reviews and Site Safety Evaluations

What We Are Seeking
- 2-3 years work experience in a Glazing Estimating position (commercial type projects).
- Architectural Technology Diploma, Construction Engineering Technologies Diploma, Estimating Certificate, education in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Experienced in using computer programs specific to this role (MS office package & BlueBeam)
- Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast pace, team environment
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Solution focused and team-oriented attitude
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Committed to safety
