The Opportunity:

 

We are currently recruiting a Geospatial Consultant to join our Digital Engineering Department in the Sales & estimating team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a Geospatial background looking to widen their experience within the expeditious Geospatial industry. This role is to provide commercial assistance & sales support to the department sales manager but also assisting the wider MGS commercial team in their tender preparations to ensure client requirements are met to a high standard and their expectations. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Head of Digital Engineering UK.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Sales Support

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Consult with client representatives, maintaining and earning trust through expertise, technical knowledge and consistent delivery.

Identify new service opportunities and support the development of profitable sales pipelines.

Represent Murphy Geospatial at client meetings, presentations, workshops and internal coordination sessions.

Prepare quotations, fee proposals and technical tender documentation.

Review, understand and request further information or clarifications on tender scope documents.

Ensure accurate CRM recording and consistent follow-up on all leads, opportunities and proposals.

Provide weekly updates on activities, leads, pipeline status and progress toward targets.

Promote MGS Vision & Values (Respect, Innovation, Community, Integrity) in all client interactions.

Ensure client expectations are met through validated MGS outputs and exceptional service delivery.

 

 

Commercial, Quality & Process Support

Understand all core MGS offerings with the ability to spot cross-selling opportunities.

Review and validate workflows, scope assumptions and deliverables for proposals to ensure accuracy and commercial robustness.

Review weekly operational or project reports and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement.

Take ownership of client feedback loops and help integrate improvements into departmental processes.

Support quality management, risk management and scope control in collaboration with technical teams.

Ensure compliance with current regulations and internal policies relating to proposals and commercial processes.

Promote and reinforce a safety-first culture, ensuring learnings from incidents or near misses are incorporated proactively.

 

Technical & Departmental Support

Provide basic technical guidance to clients on geospatial methodology, Digital Engineering workflows and surveying best practices.

Offer technical expertise on matters related to spatial data and appropriate service selection.

Act as a departmental representative for Survey & UAV knowledge base, supporting technical questions across teams.

Assist in evaluating and implementing innovative technologies that provide competitive advantage.

Support the department in adopting new workflows, helping ensure technology is used effectively and profitably.

Facilitate business growth by working collaboratively with internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors and technology partners.

 

 

  Requirements

Degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field

A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in the geospatial/surveying industry.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Ability to work to deadlines and meet sales or delivery targets

Commercial awareness and confidence in client-facing environments

Full clean UK driving licence

Right to work in the UK

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD

Experience working on BIM projects

Knowledge of Autodesk Revit (advantageous)

Experience in infrastructure projects.

Experience with UAV / Drone surveys
