Service Technician – Power Generation Equipment

Location: Deland, Florida
Department: Service / Field Operations
Reports To: Service Manager Salary: $24 – 31.00/Hourly

Position Summary

Coastline Power Solutions is seeking a skilled Service Technician with strong mechanical and electrical experience to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial power generation equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring generators and related systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Travel Requirement: This role includes regional travel and project assignments lasting up to five days at a time. Candidates should be comfortable working on-site at customer facilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on industrial generators and associated systems

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues

Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

Conduct load bank testing and performance verification

Install and commission generator systems and related components

Inspect equipment for safety, functionality, and compliance with standards

Document service work, parts used, and findings accurately

Communicate technical findings and recommendations to supervisors and customers

Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle in proper working condition

Follow all safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and company policies

Required Qualifications

Proven mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience

Background in industrial, manufacturing, power generation, or heavy equipment environments

Experience servicing or maintaining generators (diesel, natural gas, or industrial units)

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally or regionally as needed

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in shop and field environments

Preferred Qualifications

Technical certification, trade school, or military technical training

Experience with ATS systems, switchgear, or control panels

PLC or controls troubleshooting experience

OEM generator certifications (Cummins, Kohler, CAT, Generac, etc.)

OSHA 10 or 30 certification
