General Medical Officer / Emergency Medical Officer

Job Title: General Medical Officer (GMO)

Location: Papua New Guinea
Department: Medical – Clinical
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years
Qualification: MBBS (Mandatory)
Salary: PGK 5000- 8000 per month (Net)

Job Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive primary healthcare services to both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Conduct thorough patient evaluations, identify medical conditions, and provide appropriate treatments.

Track patient recovery and make specialist referrals as necessary.

Keep detailed and precise medical documentation while adhering to clinical guidelines.

Take part in clinical rounds, case reviews, and healthcare audits.

Work closely with nursing and support teams to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Address both routine and emergency medical situations promptly and with compassion.

Inform and advise patients and their families about health conditions and preventive measures.

Requirements:

Department: Emergency / ICU
Experience Required: At least 3 years
Qualification: MBBS (mandatory); training in emergency medicine or ICU exposure is preferred
Salary: PGK 8000 – PGK 10000 per month (net) (depending on experience)

Job Responsibilities:

Provide care for emergency cases, trauma patients, and critically ill individuals through prompt decision-making.

Stabilize patients and manage life-threatening emergencies effectively.

Conduct emergency procedures including intubation, IV cannulation, CPR, and others as required.

Assess patients and prioritize treatment based on clinical urgency.

Collaborate with ICU, surgical teams, and diagnostic departments to ensure immediate patient support.

Keep accurate records of emergency cases and ensure smooth handovers.

Participate in shift rotations, on-call responsibilities, and emergency response drills.
