Job Description

IDM Brands is an investment venture capital incubator dedicated to building innovative brands and businesses. The company currently has a diverse portfolio comprising 12 unique brands. This is a role for a General Manager of Asia Operations for one of our partner organizations. The role involves leading their manufacturing facility in Taichung for a growing international technology company operating in the consumer hardware space. With headquarters in North America and a production facility in Taichung, the organization designs and manufactures specialized hardware products sold through global partners and direct channels across Asia, North America, and Europe.

The business is in a period of sustainable growth and continuous improvement, with ambitious targets for the next two to three years. As the company continues to scale its global operations, it is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its Taichung facility and play a key role in shaping the business going forward.

The General Manager will operate at a strategic level, providing executive oversight of the Taichung facility while serving as the critical link between regional operations and global leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight of the Taichung manufacturing facility in alignment with global company objectives
• Act as the primary communication bridge between the Taichung site and global leadership — translating strategy into execution and delivering clear, transparent, data-driven reporting
• Drive a culture of open communication, accountability, and continuous improvement across all functions
• Oversee resource allocation, capacity planning, and material readiness to ensure customer commitments and long-range sales forecasts are consistently met
• Lead the rollout of company initiatives, including ongoing operational excellence and process improvement programs
• Manage all facility financials — budgeting (OpEx/CapEx), cost controls, payroll, vendor payments, and regulatory filings
• Lead, coach, and develop direct reports; manage performance and build a high-performing team culture
• Interface with key partners and customers to address delivery and quality matters as required
• Establish and report on facility KPIs, operational goals, and strategic milestones on a regular basis
• Oversee S&OP data integrity, inventory management, cycle counts, and compliance with local regulatory requirements


Requirements:
• University degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Operations, or Engineering preferred
• 7+ years in a senior manufacturing operations leadership role (General Manager or equivalent), with at least 3 years at Senior Management level
• Background in consumer hardware, advanced manufacturing, or technology-enabled product environments
• Proven experience implementing operational improvement programs, driving process improvement, and leading teams through operational change
• Exposure to integrated hardware products combining mechanical, electronic, and software elements
• Experience working across international organizations in Asia, North America, and/or Europe
• Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese — spoken and written (essential)

Additional Information

• Location: On-site management at the Taichung facility
• Travel: International travel required to industry hubs


Benefits:
• Competitive salary package dependent on experience (TWD3.5M - 4.5M)
• Bonus structure including guaranteed 13th month and potential discretionary performance bonus
