Magnet Expert is a specialist e-commerce and technical business supplying magnetic solutions to residential, industrial, manufacturing, education and trade customers across the UK and beyond. Through our flagship online brand FIRST4MAGNETS, alongside our technical and solutions-led offering, we sit at the intersection of technical expertise, fast fulfilment and real-world problem-solving, and we’re now entering the next phase of our growth.
We’re now looking for a Commercial General Manager to lead Magnet Expert day-to-day, with a clear mandate: own commercial performance, build momentum, and turn strategy into execution.
This role exists to provide focused leadership inside the business. Someone who can take responsibility for revenue, sales direction and commercial clarity, while working closely with Group leadership and operational teams.
What the role looks like
As General Manager, you’ll be the senior day-to-day leader for Magnet Expert.
You’ll translate Group strategy and financial targets into clear commercial plans, lead sales performance, sharpen our go-to-market approach, and ensure teams are aligned behind the right priorities. You’ll be the primary escalation point within the business and a key voice at leadership level.
This is not a “hands-off” role, equally, it’s not purely tactical. You’ll be expected to lead from the front where it matters, set standards, make decisions, and create pace.
Key responsibilities
Own commercial performance for Magnet Expert, including revenue growth, pipeline health and new customer acquisition
Lead and develop the sales function, ensuring clear structure, accountability and momentum
Set commercial priorities and ensure the business is focused on the right opportunities
Work closely with Group leadership on targets, forecasting and strategic direction
Collaborate with central marketing teams to ensure Magnet Expert is positioned correctly and supported with clear, prioritised commercial briefs
Drive clarity across pricing, propositions and routes to market
Act as the senior operational lead within the business day-to-day, escalating where appropriate but owning decisions locally
Represent Magnet Expert internally at Group level and externally with key partners or customers where required
Who we’re looking for
This role will suit someone who is commercially driven, structured, and comfortable leading in a growing, fast-moving environment.
You’re likely to have:
Senior commercial or general management experience within e-commerce, technical, industrial or B2B environments
A strong background in sales leadership and commercial strategy
Experience turning high-level goals into practical execution
Confidence leading teams and making decisions without unnecessary bureaucracy
The ability to work closely with founders and Group leadership while owning outcomes independently
You don’t need to come from a corporate background, what matters most is judgement, pace and commercial instinct.
