Our client, a rapidly expanding luxury hospitality group, is seeking an exceptional General Manager for their flagship boutique resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This is a an extraordinary opportunity to lead a newly established property currently undergoing exciting improvements and development.

This role is ideal for a seasoned hospitality leader who thrives in dynamic, startup environments and is passionate about delivering world-class guest experiences in an inclusive, vibrant setting. The ideal candidate will bring proven luxury resort management experience, strong financial acumen, and the leadership skills necessary to inspire a diverse team across multiple departments including hotel operations, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Oversee day-to-day operations across all resort departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Recreation, and Maintenance
• Maintain exceptional standards of service and facilities, ensuring the resort meets and exceeds luxury hospitality benchmarks
• Conduct regular property walk-throughs to monitor cleanliness, ambiance, and guest-facing operations
• Manage high-volume, multi-outlet resort operations with strong organizational precision

Guest Experience Excellence

• Champion a culture of personalized service, ensuring every guest's stay is memorable and exceeds expectations
• Curate unique, culturally authentic experiences that highlight Puerto Vallarta's natural beauty and local heritage
• Proactively address guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly to maintain outstanding reviews and repeat business
• Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment that celebrates diversity

Strategic & Financial Management

• Develop and implement resort-specific budgets, forecasts, and pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability
• Oversee cost management for high-volume operations, ensuring food, labor, and overhead expenses align with targets
• Identify growth opportunities through seasonal packages, event hosting, and strategic partnerships
• Establish and measure KPIs to track team performance and business growth

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead a diverse team of department heads and staff, creating a cohesive culture focused on excellence and collaboration
• Recruit, train, and mentor employees, emphasizing cultural awareness and guest-centric service
• Set clear employee standards, guidelines, rules, and policies
• Conduct regular performance evaluations to inspire accountability and engagement
• Address and resolve team challenges with professional, constructive leadership

Sales, Marketing & Community Engagement

• Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the resort through digital platforms, travel agencies, and luxury networks
• Establish and nurture relationships with key partners in tourism, corporate, and event sectors
• Host travel influencers, media, and VIP guests to showcase the resort's unique offerings

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws, health and safety regulations, and hospitality standards
• Implement and oversee emergency protocols for guest safety and resort security
• Foster sustainability initiatives including waste management, energy conservation, and eco-friendly partnerships

Liderazgo Operacional

• Supervisar las operaciones diarias en todos los departamentos del resort incluyendo Recepción, Ama de Llaves, Alimentos y Bebidas, Recreación y Mantenimiento
• Mantener estándares excepcionales de servicio e instalaciones, asegurando que el resort cumpla y supere los estándares de hospitalidad de lujo
• Realizar recorridos regulares de la propiedad para monitorear limpieza, ambiente y operaciones de cara al huésped
• Gestionar operaciones de resort de alto volumen y múltiples puntos de venta con fuerte precisión organizacional

Excelencia en Experiencia del Huésped

• Promover una cultura de servicio personalizado, asegurando que la estadía de cada huésped sea memorable y supere las expectativas
• Crear experiencias únicas y culturalmente auténticas que destaquen la belleza natural de Puerto Vallarta y el patrimonio local
• Abordar proactivamente los comentarios de los huéspedes y resolver inquietudes rápidamente para mantener excelentes reseñas y negocios recurrentes
• Fomentar un ambiente inclusivo y acogedor que celebre la diversidad

Gestión Estratégica y Financiera

• Desarrollar e implementar presupuestos, pronósticos y estrategias de precios específicos del resort para maximizar ingresos y rentabilidad
• Supervisar la gestión de costos para operaciones de alto volumen, asegurando que los gastos de alimentos, mano de obra y gastos generales se alineen con los objetivos
• Identificar oportunidades de crecimiento a través de paquetes estacionales, organización de eventos y asociaciones estratégicas
• Establecer y medir KPIs para rastrear el rendimiento del equipo y el crecimiento del negocio

Liderazgo y Desarrollo de Equipo

• Liderar un equipo diverso de jefes de departamento y personal, creando una cultura cohesiva enfocada en la excelencia y colaboración
• Reclutar, capacitar y mentorear empleados, enfatizando la conciencia cultural y el servicio centrado en el huésped
• Establecer estándares, directrices, reglas y políticas claras para los empleados
• Realizar evaluaciones de desempeño regulares para inspirar responsabilidad y compromiso
• Abordar y resolver desafíos del equipo con liderazgo profesional y constructivo

Ventas, Marketing y Compromiso Comunitario

• Colaborar con equipos de marketing para promover el resort a través de plataformas digitales, agencias de viajes y redes de lujo
• Establecer y nutrir relaciones con socios clave en los sectores de turismo, corporativo y eventos
• Recibir influencers de viajes, medios y huéspedes VIP para mostrar las ofertas únicas del resort

Cumplimiento y Seguridad

• Garantizar el cumplimiento de las leyes laborales mexicanas, regulaciones de salud y seguridad, y estándares de hospitalidad
• Implementar y supervisar protocolos de emergencia para la seguridad de los huéspedes y la seguridad del resort
• Fomentar iniciativas de sustentabilidad incluyendo gestión de residuos, conservación de energía y asociaciones ecológicas


Requirements:
• Proven experience as a General Manager or Resort Manager in a five-star luxury hotel

• Strong understanding of hotel management, operations, and guest services within a luxury setting
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing multi-outlet resort operations
• Prior experience in a startup resort environment, including hotel, restaurant, and bar operations
• Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with cultural sensitivity, particularly within the Mexican and Latin American markets
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments while maintaining high service standards
• Professional leadership style that inspires collaboration, teamwork, and guest-focused service
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage complex, high-volume operations
