General Maintenance and HVAC Assistant: Clinvet South Africa 

Clinvet SA is widely regarded as one of the leading animal health CRO's globally.  We are recruiting for a General Maintenance and HVAC Assistant (Entry Level position) within our Maintenance Department at Clinvet South Africa at our Bloemfontein site. This is a fixed-term position for a period of 6 (six) months.

Primary Job Purpose 

To assist with project and reactive maintenance activities, including on-site HVAC installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair, general maintenance duties, basic electrical work. 

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities 

Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance using the required tools, materials, and equipment. 

Read and interpret plans or blueprints to complete HVAC/electrical installations, inspections, and repairs. 

Carry out assigned HVAC/electrical maintenance and repair work. 

Inspect tools, equipment, and materials before and after tasks  

Perform basic building maintenance and repairs (tiling, painting, plumbing, carpentry) and work at heights when required. 

Record and manage data accurately for departmental and project use. 

Follow project schedules and contribute to team timelines and goals. 

Comply with and promote safety, health, and environmental requirements. 

Perform basic troubleshooting for HVAC and electrical systems. 

Qualification, Training and Experience Requirements 

Grade 12, and at least 1 years’ experience in a similar role 

A relevant qualification will be advantageous 

Driver’s License 

Skills and Competencies 

HVAC Maintenance & Operation – Knowledge of operating, inspecting, and performing basic maintenance on HVAC systems. 

Electrical & Mechanical Tasks – Ability to perform basic electrical and mechanical tasks by following instructions and diagrams. 

Problem Solving – Able to identify, report, and assist in fixing common HVAC and electrical issues. 

Quality & Record Keeping – Maintains good workmanship and accurately records maintenance and inspection activities. 

Teamwork & Communication – Works well with team members and supervisors to complete tasks on time and share information.
