Position Summary
The General Labourer supports daily site operations by performing a variety of manual labour tasks in industrial and manufacturing environments. This role plays a key part in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient job sites while supporting skilled trades, supervisors, and operational teams in Sudbury-based projects.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
Assist supervisors and skilled trades with daily job site activities
Perform general labour duties including material handling, site preparation, and cleanup
Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials
Prepare work areas and ensure readiness for operational tasks
Support industrial maintenance, refractory, and shutdown activities as required
Health & Safety
Follow all Soluroc safety policies, procedures, and site-specific rules
Properly use required PPE at all times
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions
Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
Teamwork & Reliability
Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
Adapt to changing work assignments and site conditions
Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs
Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in construction, industrial, or labour-intensive environments an asset
Lathe experience is considered a strong asset
Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and industrial conditions
Strong awareness of safety practices and willingness to follow instructions
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation an asset
