Position Summary

The General Labourer supports daily site operations by performing a variety of manual labour tasks in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient operations while supporting production teams, supervisors, and skilled trades at our Cobourg facility.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

Assist supervisors, machine operators, and skilled trades with daily operational activities

Perform general labour duties including material handling, production support, and cleanup

Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials

Prepare work areas and ensure readiness for manufacturing and operational tasks

Support production processes, equipment setup, and maintenance activities as required

Health & Safety

Follow all Soluroc safety policies, procedures, and site-specific rules

Properly use required PPE at all times

Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions

Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment

Teamwork & Reliability

Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and production staff

Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic

Adapt to changing priorities and production needs

Perform other duties as assigned to support operational requirements

Qualifications & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, or labour-intensive environments is an asset

Experience working with machinery or production equipment (e.g., lathe) is considered a strong asset

Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)

Willingness to work in an industrial environment with varying conditions

Strong awareness of safety practices and willingness to follow instructions

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation an asset
