Canadian PMX is one of Canada’s leading precious metals companies and a direct authorized distributor for the Royal Canadian Mint. The company offers high quality physical investment gold and silver to investors online through its website canadianpmx.com and in its retail showroom. Canadian Coin & Currency is Canada’s largest collector coin retailer and is also an authorized distributor of collector coins for the Royal Canadian Mint. There is also an estate jewellery division, including sales on television through Today’s Shopping Choice. The company offers products online at cdncoin.com, and buys and sells at its Richmond Hill, Ontario showroom. With a total of about 30 employees, every role is important and there is a strong cohesive team environment.
About the Position:
We are hiring for a full-time customer service / gemologist position. You will sit down with our customers to accurately determine the authenticity and value of their items. We are looking for someone who will provide great customer service - all training on gold testing will be provided upon hire. This is a full-time position based in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Other responsibilities include keeping the store clean and organized as well as some administrative tasks.
We are looking to hire someone who is motivated, hardworking, and eager to learn. There will be a great opportunity for advancement in the company as the online sales division continues to grow.
What every candidate needs:
- Graduate Gemologist degree, or a GIA accredited Gemologist. Must be able to grade both diamonds, and coloured stones.
- Great customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- To be self-motivated and results driven.
- To have a proven interest in learning and development.
- Familiarity and comfort with computers and math.
Your duties as a Precious Metals Buyers:
- Provide exceptional customer service to our clients in person, over the phone and by email.
- Accurately assess customers’ precious metals in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Work on other tasks and projects as assigned.

Hours:
This is a full-time position. Approximately 40 hours / week. Will include week day and weekend hours.
Requirements:
- A Graduate Gemologist degree, or a GIA accredited Gemologist. Must be able to grade both diamonds, and coloured stones.
- 2+ years of customer service experience.

Salary: $65,000-$70,000
