Gemini App Analytics Infrastructure SWE

The Gemini Apps Analytics Infra team is responsible for providing critical telemetry about the Gemini web and mobile apps. The data we produce is key in everything from helping to evaluate the performance of new Gemini model candidates and Gemini App product features to providing leadership up to Demis with an accurate and timely understanding of how the product is doing. We enable the Gemini App org to make well-informed business decisions and to deliver state-of-the-art LLMs to hundreds of millions of users.
The Role
The Gemini App’s user base is growing and the growth is accelerating. We have ambitious product goals and the Analytics Infrastructure team is set to play a critical role across the org in reaching them. We are looking for a senior SWE to take on the challenge to scale our infrastructure to keep pace so that we can continue delivering metrics and product data quickly, reliably and accurately.
Leveraging your experience or expertise in building and running scalable systems, and utilizing infrastructure like Flume, Dreampipe, Conduit, and more, you will work with a team of high-performing senior and junior engineers to deliver datasets at scale to drive Gemini Apps’ most high-priority efforts, such as reducing the cost of inference or improving product reliability or increasing the velocity of model releases. You will work directly with key stakeholders, including our Data Science, model release, model quality, and feature teams, as well as teams across GDM, to understand and provide high-quality data to solve key problems to help make Gemini the next billion-user product. Along the way, you will learn about and support shipping the latest cutting-edge models to our users.
About You
To set you up for success as a Gemini Apps Analytics Infrastructure SWE at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:
Required qualifications
• C++ proficiency
• Experience developing, debugging, and supporting large-scale data pipelines
• Interest in data and data quality, attention to detail
• Willing to stand behind production systems by carrying a pager
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
• Go proficiency
• Experience with Conduit, Dreampipe, Lavaflow, Napa, Rasta, F1, or other similar infrastructure.
• Experience working in the analytics domain, doing data analysis
