Gas Fitter G2 Journeyman
Job Summary:
The G2 Gas Fitter is a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing gas lines to TSSA Standards, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing HVAC equipment, sheet metal, or mechanical systems in compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. This role requires technical proficiency, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and a commitment to delivering quality work on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Installing gas lines to TSSA standards.
Install, fabricate, and maintain HVAC, sheet metal, ductwork, piping, or other mechanical systems according to project specifications and industry standards.
Read, interpret, and execute work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Ensure work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and provincial/federal regulations.
Assist in training apprentices and less experienced tradespeople.
Conduct inspections and troubleshooting of existing systems to identify defects and recommend solutions.
Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other trades to ensure the timely completion of projects.
Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and project progress.
Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
Qualifications:
Completion of a G2 journeyman certification.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the trade at the G2 level.
Proficient in blueprint reading, measuring, cutting, and assembly of materials.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in the trade.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license [if travel to multiple sites is required].
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy materials up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, and varying weather conditions.
Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
Work Environment:
Construction sites, industrial facilities, or residential projects.
Exposure to dust, noise, and mechanical equipment.
Safety gear and personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
Demonstrated reliability and ability to work flex hours as required.
