The FX Trader will lead and manage foreign exchange trading operations to optimize profitability, ensure liquidity, and manage currency risk. This role is critical to the execution of fiat-crypto and fiat-fiat exchange strategy, playing a pivotal part in managing day-to-day currency flows, spreads, and arbitrage opportunities across various platforms and markets.
Responsibilities:
• Execute and manage FX trades in local and international currency pairs, ensuring competitiveness and profitability while minimizing risk.
• Monitor market movements and trends to inform pricing strategies and hedging positions.
• Manage liquidity across fiat pools (PHP, USD, etc.) to support customer transactions and treasury operations.
• Analyze spreads, pricing, and arbitrage opportunities across exchanges (e.g., local banks, OTC desks, crypto exchanges).
• Work with Product and Engineering teams to automate and optimize pricing and trade execution.
• Develop and maintain FX risk models and strategies to mitigate exposure due to market volatility.
• Ensure compliance with BSP and AML regulations related to FX operations.
• Collaborate with the finance, compliance, and legal teams to ensure proper documentation, controls, and reporting of all FX activities.
• Prepare and present daily/weekly trade reports, P&L summaries, and risk analysis to senior management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in FX trading, treasury, or market-making, preferably in fintech, crypto, or banking.
• Strong knowledge of currency markets, trading platforms, and execution algorithms.
• Proven track record of profitable trading and risk management.
• Familiarity with crypto markets, stablecoins, and fiat on/off ramps is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or similar market tools; familiarity with APIs or trading system integrations is a plus.
