ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. POSITION SUMMARY:

World Relief seeks a Furniture Set-up Associate. This position is responsible for assisting refugee and immigrant families with the furnishing of their living space. This includes ensuring that apartments are appropriately furnished for families and individuals prior to or shortly after their arrival. This position will collaborate with church and volunteer partners to solicit, collect, and set up donated furniture and household items for this purpose.

This is a temporary, part-time position (20 hours per week) funded for up to 90 days and contingent upon funding extension.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES::
• Maintain a stocked inventory of furniture and household items, cleaned and ready to be distributed as needed.
• Collaborate with Church and Volunteer Engagement to develop strategies for winterwear and household donation collections as necessary.
• Coordinate the transfer of donated items that World Relief doesn’t use to partner organizations.
• Drive company moving truck for furniture pick-ups and home set-ups; monitor vehicle maintenance as needed.
• Set the schedule for furniture donation pickups each week.
• Track donations for welcome kits, furniture, and coats.
• Assist in coordinating apartment setups with staff and scheduling with volunteers.
• Attend team meetings and staff meetings.
• Assist in supervising warehouse volunteer groups and weekly warehouse volunteers.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS::
• Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Driver's License
• Comfortable driving 16-foot moving truck

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS::
• Demonstrated cultural competency and an ability to relate well with people different from one’s own background.
• Highly self-motivated with strong follow-through and ability to work independently.
• Ability to direct volunteers, immigrants, and their family members in the moving of furniture items with excellent customer service.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to regularly carry furniture items including sofas, dining tables, dressers, and beds, alongside others, up and down stairs.
• Strong organizational skills.
