Primary Function:
The Furniture Sales and Donations Coordinator is responsible for the overall operation and appearance of the Safe Harbor Resale Shop furniture sales floor (located next door to the main Resale Shop), including customer service, sales, and inventory. This position is also the primary contact for community donors who need support for larger/furniture donations and works closely with the furniture and delivery team to schedule and coordinate those pick-ups. This position is expected to provide excellent and professional customer service to both shoppers and callers.
This position has a 40-hour work week which must include being onsite for direct furniture sales during hours of operation. (Currently open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm but may be flexible or altered based on business needs.)
This position directly reports to the Volunteer and Development Manager, however, this role is also supported by and requires close collaboration with the Resale Store Manager and staff.
This is a full time, hourly, non-exempt position, eligible for benefits

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Sales & Marketing
Greet and assist customers and process purchases
Clean, price, and beautifully display merchandise in accordance with thrift store procedures
Ensure the location is clean and well-maintained at all times
Lead any opening or closing procedures for the Furniture Warehouse.
Collaborate with the Furniture Delivery team to refresh and rotate the furniture sales floor, also identifying and sourcing items appropriate for the main Resale Shop floor. This will include regular visits to offsite storage to view and select available items.
Collaborate with the Resale Store Manager and the Marketing and Communications Manager for efforts related to discount or seasonal sales, social media marketing, and flyers, posters or other print materials.
Identify items which may be appropriate for online sales and work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to support those efforts.
In-Kind Donation Requests
Serve as the primary contact for community partners and donors wishing to donate furniture or larger donations requiring pick-up services.
Respond to all phone messages no later than the following working/business day
Schedule and calendar donation pick-ups for the Furniture and Delivery team
Support all documentation and tracking required for calls, donations, inventory, and scheduled pick-ups
Support the loading/unloading of donated goods as needed
General
Participate in and support Resale Shop activities and events (staff meetings, displays, special projects, holiday reset etc.)
Support volunteers as needed
Other duties as assigned by Volunteer and Development Manager
Primary Qualifications:
Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Work Experience
2+ years experience in retail sales, customer service, or similar roles required
Core Skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Engages in positive public interaction with donors and community partners
Prioritizes tasks and manages time well in an evolving environment
Highly organized and ability to schedule activities effectively
High degree of integrity and work ethic
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
Observant and security conscious with ability to de-escalate if needed
Willingness to uphold Safe Harbor standards for safety, service, and efficiency
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Possession of a valid SC driver’s license and clean driving record
