Your Role

An exciting opportunity exists within this established and successful hedge fund for an exceptional Fund Accountant to broaden the fund accounting provision at an established asset management firm with a long track record of running hedge funds. This expansive role will entail the analysis and fund accounting oversight of equity-related funds (Cayman and UCITS) and managed accounts.

Your Key Areas of Impact

Controlling & maintaining the accounting records of various investment funds.

Review of Daily P&L/NAV.

Producing weekly NAV estimates.

Monthly NAV Reconciliation to Fund Administrators.

Market value & pricing reconciliation, ensuring compliance with valuation policies.

Reconciliation of gross P&L by line item & appropriate expense accruals.

Reconciliation of capital transactions (subscriptions, redemptions, transfers etc.).

Income allocation to underlying investors.

Calculation of management and incentive fees across multiple share classes.

Review administrative/accounting procedures in order to find more efficient solutions.

Accurate and timely fee billing across all funds.

Manage and periodically review the non-trading accruals of the funds.

Assist with fund audit process and tax reporting responsibilities (K-1s, PFICS etc.).

UK Reporting Fund Status analysis and management.

Supporting and contributing to external reporting including, but not limited to;

Regulatory reporting

Investor newsletters

Ad-hoc management reporting and investor queries

What We Are Looking For   

Qualified accountant, or working towards qualification with experience in fund accounting, preferably within hedge funds.

Strong understanding of core liquid equity-related products and how they are traded.

Experience with back office/P&L systems, process improvement/automation, P&L attribution.

Team player with ability to effectively coordinate with Finance, Operations, Traders & Developers.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Works well under pressure & able to explain complex matters clearly and thoughtfully.

Ability to work in a changing, fast-paced work environment.

Strong analytical skills & MS Excel experience.

Familiarity with US Tax Compliance and UK Reporting Fund Status preferred but not essential.

Prior involvement in an audit cycle preferred but not essential.

Any coding/automation experience a bonus

The role is based in London with an expectation of 5 days per week in the office.
