Fullstack Software Engineer (PHP + DevOps experience)

This is an in office position 5 days a week.

The Role:

As a Software Developer, you will work within a supportive team in an agile, continuous delivery organization. You will collaborate with designers and engineers to help deliver product capabilities and features to our groundbreaking cloud-based mobile product.

Sauce Labs is looking for a team player who demonstrates strong ownership and emerging leadership qualities in a strategic component. This could be you, specifically, if you have strong hands-on PHP experience and are comfortable developing in multiple languages, delivering features that span web, backend, and mobile. As a key member of the team, you will work directly with business and engineering leadership across Sauce Labs and with engineers from other leading tech companies.

Responsibilities:

• Be a proactive team player, eager to explore the unknown, and solve complex problems.

• You'll work closely with development and product management teams to actively contribute to defining user story acceptance criteria, breaking down complex stories into manageable tasks, providing estimates, planning, and ultimately delivering results.

• Contribute to the technical design process by participating in the analysis of technical application requirements.

• Working as part of an agile development team, developing new features of our product with quality and efficiency.

• Design, build, maintain, and actively participate in code reviews for high-traffic, scalable services.

• Take End-to-End ownership of your deliverables, including crafting technical specs, writing readable and extensible code, runbooks, and post-release metrics.

• You will start contributing to the engineering strategy and development, as well as the operation and maintenance of our product.

• Interacting with architects, UX, and Ops, and participating in planning, design, and review meetings.

• Collaborating with cross-functional team members on all aspects of development and process.

• Providing end-user support.

• Other duties as assigned by the company’s needs.

Required Skills:

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.

• Creative problem solver with a willingness to learn & grow.

• Strong experience in PHP (8.x +) development, working with complex integration API, including user management and billing type APIs.

• Understanding design patterns and OOP principles.

• Proficient in working in an AWS/GCP environment.

• Comfortable working with Linux command tools and Apache HTTPD.

• An asset to have Bash, Python, or other scripting language experience.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI.

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including Ansible and Terraform

• You are self-motivated & take ownership of your work (both independently & with peers).

• Experience in web development using Typescript + React/Angular is an asset.

Nice to Have:

• Mobile development experience.
