We believe every member on our team enriches our diversity by exposing us to a broad range of ways to understand and engage with the world, identify challenges, and to discover, design and deliver solutions.The Beverly Public Schools is seeking a school psychologist to perform a variety of professional activities involved in the observation, evaluation, and determination of eligibility for special education services, as well as provide consultation to students, families, and school staff through the evaluation and eligibility determination process. Primary assignment is at the elementary level, but evaluations at other levels may be assigned based on caseload needs. This position requires travel throughout Beverly and may require travel outside of the district to complete evaluations and participate in Team Meetings. This position is an evaluator position only and does not provide any direct services.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:Observe, interview and conduct psychological evaluations regarding student cognition, behavioral, social-emotional, executive functioning, sensory motor, adaptive behavior, academic, and vocational needs.Write concise and detailed reports of the assessment results aligned with state requirements, including recommendations regarding eligibility for special education services and instructional strategies.Support team determinations that adhere to entrance/exit criteria for disability, programs and services.Participate in IEP team meetings through collaboration with IEP team members, including assisting the team in understanding the impact of the disability on learning; development and implementation of IEPs.Provide consultation with parents regarding the students social-emotional development, progress, behavior, assessment results, educational recommendations, and other issues related to the evaluation and eligibility determination process.Provide ongoing consultation to teachers and staff regarding teaching students with diverse learning needsAuthor relevant sections of IEPs and 504 plansProvide trainings for teachers, staff, and parents as neededParticipate in Special Education Department meetings.Communicate with the Special Education Department and Building Administrative Staff regarding evaluation scheduling and space needs.Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services or designee.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Prepare and maintain detailed and accurate records according to applicable standards, state and federal laws, and district proceduresCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingWork independently with minimal supervisionMeet schedules and mandated timelinesOperate a variety of office equipment including computer and word processing softwareCurrent knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, codes, and regulations, including mandates related to special educationKnowledge of curriculum standards, methodology, accommodations and modificationsKnowledge of positive behavior interventionsAppropriate assessments and eligibility criteria to determine if a student has a disability, including consideration of environmental, social, and cultural differencesDemonstrate flexibility with respect to caseload assignment, age groups, and schedulingExperience as a school psychologist in a public school settingExperience assessing students across age levels and disabilities Knowledge of a variety of assessment tools, including WISC, WPPSI,WISC V, BRIEF 2, BASC 3, BASC-3, DKEFS, KTEA.Compensation is set in accordance with the Beverly Teachers Association Unit A collective bargaining agreement and is commensurate with experience and education.
