Job Description
Community living is seeking an energetic, motivated, and career-minded full-time floating Direct Support Professional. The ideal support staff committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for individuals of all sexual orientations and gender identities and will use Trauma-Informed, ABA-informed, and strengths-based approaches to foster independence, emotional regulation, and community engagement.
Responsibilities:
Will be scheduled at a base location as an "additional" staffing to existing needs of the program.
• Will be redeployed by the scheduler or on-call manager to fill a sick call or scheduling gap.
• Might not be scheduled five (5) consecutive working days followed by two (2) consecutive non-working days in a week (Mon-Sun) but will be guaranteed two (2) block of two (2) consecutive non-working days in the pay period.
• May be scheduled 8, 10 or 12 hours shifts.
• Will receive at least one weekend off per month.
• Should the floating staff be redeployed after they have started their day at their base location, mileage based on the employer's policy will be paid to the staff for travel to the new location.
Qualifications
Class G Licence (Required)
Developmental services diploma or related field of study ( Required)
CPR and First Aid Certification (Required)
Covid 19 Vaccination (Preferred)
Requirements:
*Floating DSP's will be compensated as the same hourly rate as the Caseworkers to compensate for their need to have the ability and skills for this position.
**DSPs in this position must have a 2-year diploma or meet CLGS equivalency policy.
**Must enter the classification via the job posting process in Article 12.05.
**Must have a G license and reliable vehicle due to the nature of the position.
**FT Floaters will receive the same total compensation package of a Caseworker.
**Floater staff can be moved into short-term vacancies where there is a bona fide need. This type of movement is a redeployment and does not require two weeks' notice.
**Floater staff can be redeployed to cover case worker for Case Management.
**Paperwork days when required.
Preference will be given to person with experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
Work Hours:
The hours of work are scheduled 80 hours bi-weekly with the potential of more shifts as they become available (Full-time)
