💼 The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead a team of up to 6 engineers and play a key role in shaping our technical roadmap. You’ll set direction, guide architecture decisions, and drive delivery of complex, customer-facing features on our SaaS platform — while continuing to contribute hands-on to the codebase.

This role is ideal for a Senior Engineer ready to step into leadership while staying close to the craft of engineering.

⚡ What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and delivery of high-performance features for our customers

• Own technical outcomes end-to-end, balancing speed, quality, and scalability

• Architect scalable backend services, APIs and data models to process operational drilling data

• Set technical standards and drive best practices across the codebase, tools, and pipelines

• Guide and mentor a team of Software Engineers, building capability and fostering a growth-oriented culture

• Collaborate closely with product and design to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions

🧠 Qualifications and Fit

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Proven ability to lead projects or small teams while staying hands-on

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python (or similar modern backend languages) and their relevant web frameworks

• Experience dealing with relational databases at scale (Postgres/Mysql)

• Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software practices

• Background in B2B SaaS

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud platforms

• Proven ability to lead projects or small teams, set technical direction, and remain hands-on

• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
