About the Role

We are looking for 3 Full Stack Engineers for a full-time contract engagement supporting a US-based client in the e-commerce domain.

The goal of this engagement is to accelerate feature delivery and strengthen code quality across mature, customer-facing production systems.

This is not a greenfield project. The systems are already in production, structured, and transaction-sensitive. Engineers are expected to ramp up quickly (within 1–2 weeks) and deliver production-ready features independently.

The primary objective is to increase engineering throughput while reducing defect rates, working within established sprint cadences and architecture guidelines.

This role requires strong backend expertise in PHP (LAMP environment, MVC frameworks — Symfony is ideal) and solid experience building and maintaining Angular-based Single Page Applications (Angular 2+) using TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. Node.js experience is a strong plus and may be part of the stack depending on team needs.

This is a fixed-term contract engagement with performance-based continuation possibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement complete full stack features (backend + frontend).
• Develop backend APIs primarily using PHP (MVC frameworks).
• Contribute to Node.js services when applicable.
• Build and enhance Angular (2+) web applications using TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Optimize and maintain relational databases (MySQL or similar).
• Refactor legacy components to improve maintainability and performance.
• Improve automated test coverage when applicable.
• Participate actively in code reviews.
• Deliver committed sprint work independently.
• Maintain consistent sprint velocity without heavy supervision.

Ideal Profile

We are specifically looking for engineers who:

• Have worked in mature production systems with real users and live transactions.
• Are comfortable working on existing codebases, not only greenfield projects.
• Can ramp up quickly and start contributing within 1–2 weeks.
• Have strong backend discipline and understand performance-sensitive environments.
• Have real experience with Angular in complex applications.
• Are execution-oriented and comfortable in structured sprint environments.
• Do not require heavy onboarding or close supervision.
• Are comfortable in contractor-style engagements focused on delivery and impact.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong PHP experience within an MVC framework (Symfony strongly preferred; Laravel/Zend/CakePHP acceptable).
• Strong Angular (2+) experience in production environments.
• Strong relational database experience (MySQL or similar).
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience working on and improving legacy production systems.
• Experience working under agile/sprint methodologies.

Technical Skills

• Strong PHP experience within MVC frameworks in production environments.
• Experience working in LAMP-based architectures.
• Experience with Symfony is highly valued.
• Strong TypeScript, HTML, and CSS skills.
• Strong experience with relational databases (MySQL or similar), including query optimization.
• Experience refactoring and improving legacy production codebases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and structured code review processes.

Nice to Have

• Production experience with Node.js (NestJS, Express, or similar).
• Experience in transaction-heavy or e-commerce platforms.
• Experience improving automated test coverage in mature systems.
• Experience working with distributed teams.

Additional Requirements

• Based in LATAM.
• Minimum 4-hour overlap with US business hours.
• Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
• Full-time availability for a fixed-term contract engagement.
• Availability to complete a take-home technical assessment (3-day turnaround expected) as part of the evaluation process.

• Submission to the client including CV and completed assessment.
• Live technical interview (discussion of the assessment and technical deep dive).
