About the role

We’re looking for a skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to join a global engineering team working on modern payment solutions. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend services that power multiple payment gateways, methods, and related systems, while also supporting frontend development where needed.

You’ll play a key part in building secure, scalable, and high-performing payment flows using Node.js, TypeScript, and Angular, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain robust backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, with a focus on core payment flows
• Contribute to frontend development using Angular, supporting user experience and interface best practices
• Design, build, and optimise high-performance APIs
• Assist in designing and optimising database schemas, working with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Write and execute tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and security
• Contribute to building scalable infrastructure and improving system performance
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and backend teams, providing technical input across the stack
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues efficiently when required
• Engage in continuous learning, documentation, and improvement of engineering practices

Requirements:
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with solid experience in Node.js
• Practical experience with Angular (2+)
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
• Understanding of API development and integration principles
• Knowledge of software testing principles and experience with testing frameworks such as Jest
• Familiarity with microservices architecture is a plus
• A relevant degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or similar) or equivalent practical/bootcamp experience

Nice to Have:
• Experience working on payment systems or financial platforms
• Exposure to scalable, distributed systems
• Interest in improving performance, security, and system resilience
