Full-Stack Engineer, ChatGPT Ecosystem (Apps Platform & SDK)

Ecosystem is one of our major bets this year to turn ChatGPT into a true super-assistant. We’re building the platform that millions of developers (and eventually end-users) will use to make ChatGPT infinitely more useful—through powerful tooling, SDKs, and platform capabilities that enable an ecosystem of ChatGPT Apps.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer who enjoys blending front-end and back-end work to ship end-to-end features on the ChatGPT Apps platform and SDK. You’ll partner closely with Product, Security, Trust & Safety, Research, and other engineers to deliver high-quality developer experiences and expand what ChatGPT Apps can do.

What You’ll Do

• Build and ship mission-critical features in the ChatGPT Apps SDK and broader platform.

• Collaborate with Product Management, Security, Trust & Safety, Research, and Engineering to design and deliver developer-first experiences.

• Own features end-to-end: from early design and technical direction through implementation, launch, and iteration.

• Build scalable services and APIs, and develop polished UI surfaces that support publishing, discovery, and app capabilities.

• Help set enduring technical direction—shipping foundations that become new product areas over time.

• Contribute to team best practices in testing, architecture, and overall SDLC quality.

• You’re a true full-stack engineer—comfortable moving between frontend and backend to deliver complete features (React/Python are a bonus, not required).

• You’ve built developer tools or platforms (SDKs, integrations like Slack apps, open source libraries, or experience at developer-tooling companies).

• You’re product-oriented and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional partners to shape great user/developer experiences.

• You like shipping quickly without compromising quality, security, or performance.

• You’re excited to build foundational platform capabilities that will scale with a rapidly growing ecosystem.
