We are supporting an HR Tech product company that is building an AI‑powered interview platform, designed to conduct intelligent interviews through natural conversation, real‑time analysis, and automated report generation.

About the Role

We are looking for a Full‑Stack Engineer with strong backend focus to help build and scale an AI‑driven interview platform.
This is a high‑impact role in a small and growing engineering team, where you will have strong ownership over features and contribute directly to architectural and technical decisions.
Focus:
70% Backend (APIs, AI, data, integrations).
30% Frontend (connecting APIs, UI improvements).
You will work closely with the Tech Lead and Product Manager to deliver scalable, real‑time, AI‑powered features.

Responsibilities

Backend Development (70%)
Design and implement RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
Build scalable backend services with clear separation of concerns.
Integrate AI services using OpenAI APIs (GPT‑5, Whisper), including prompt engineering and structured outputs.
Implement background jobs and asynchronous processing.
Handle real‑time communication using WebSockets and WebRTC.
Integrate with third‑party platforms such as ATS systems via APIs and webhooks.
Design and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, relationships, and migrations.
Write complex queries and optimize database performance.
Use Redis for caching and session management.
Ensure data consistency in a multi‑tenant SaaS environment.
Collaborate on infrastructure topics such as AWS ECS, Lambda, RDS, and S3.

Frontend Development (30%)

Build and maintain forms, tables, dashboards, and data visualizations.
Fix frontend issues related to backend changes.
Implement basic UX improvements such as loading states, validations, and error handling.

AI & Integrations: OpenAI API (GPT‑5, Whisper).

Frontend (Supporting Role)
React 19, Next.js 16, TypeScript.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills (Must‑Have)
5+ years of professional experience with Python.
Strong experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, including query optimization and migrations.
Experience with ORMs (SQLAlchemy preferred).
Solid understanding of REST API design principles.
Experience integrating third‑party APIs and webhooks.
Knowledge of async/await and background processing.
Familiarity with Git and version control best practices.
Basic ability to work with React and TypeScript.

Soft Skills
Strong communication skills in Portuguese (English reading and writing for documentation).
Problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
Comfort working in fast‑changing startup environments.
Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Nice to Have

Experience with AI/LLM integrations or prompt engineering.
Background in NLP or conversational AI.
Experience with Docker and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
