OVERVIEW:

You will be owning a number of technical products within the business including technical design and development in both Python and Typescript. However, the majority of your time will be spent building out new features in our AI QSR Marketing application.

We are a small and fast paced team. You won't be writing tickets you will ship features end-to-end and see them running in production the same week. We are looking for a candidate who is capable and ready to push the boundaries of what is possible in modern AI applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• AI Marketing Platform: Design and ship core features of our QSR platform using Next.js (TypeScript) on the frontend and Python (FastAPI) on the backend. You'll build the dashboards, the campaign orchestration engine, and the AI agents that turn customer data into revenue.
• Custom Integration Apps: Build bespoke Python applications that connect AI to legacy business systems — POS platforms, CRMs, accounting tools, marketing automation. Every client's stack is different; you'll analyse the current state, find the opportunities, and build the bridges between systems that make AI useful in the real world.
• Agentic AI Systems: Go beyond prompt-and-response. You'll architect AI agents that plan multi-step workflows, call tools, recover from errors, and operate autonomously inside enterprise infrastructure.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and manage production workloads on AWS across all their core functions — including Lambda, EC2, Secrets Manager, and IAM. You'll own reliability and uptime for these products.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong professional experience in both TypeScript (Next.js) and Python (FastAPI)
• Proven ability to design and consume complex APIs.
• Solid PostgreSQL skills: relational schema design, Row-Level Security, performance tuning
• Comfortable building clean, functional UIs with Tailwind CSS — pixel-perfect design isn't required, but good product instincts are.
• Security first coding practices, and ability to stay aware of common bugs found in AI assisted code.
• Working Hours: Amenable to working in NZST (New Zealand Standard Time).

PREFERRED SKILLS (nice to have):

• Strong interest and personal experience in popular AI agent frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, or similar)
• Hands-on AWS experience — especially Lambda, EC2, and IAM
• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar tool-use patterns for LLMs.
• Strong ability to use modern AI coding platforms.
