The Engineering Assistant supports the Engineering Department in a shift role by assisting artisans with routine, trained maintenance tasks. The role provides reliable support to ensure mining equipment and machinery are maintained safely and efficiently.

Provide effective team support by:

• Performing low complexity, high volume tasks to support maintenance activities.
• Maintaining constructive interaction and collaboration within the team.
• Ensuring safe, reliable and compliant workmanship at all times.
• Following all safety, emergency and first aid procedures.
• Coordinating effectively with other teams and operational systems.
• Keeping own work area safe, clean and productive.
• Reporting defects, hazards and abnormalities to the supervisor or manager promptly.
• Contributing to clear teamwork expectations, priorities and work plans.

Assist section with practical tasks by:

• Providing hands on assistance and support to artisans during maintenance activities.
• Completing assigned tasks to required standards of quality and accuracy.
• Operating machinery and equipment in line with approved procedures.
• Completing and submitting checklists and task documentation as required.
• Adhering to safety standards and operational controls.
• Ensuring relevant tools, spares, materials and resources are available when needed.
• Carrying out work instructions and task directives as issued.

• Grade 12 (Mathematics & Science) or
• N2: Recognized Technical Trade subjects
• Completed Engineering Assistant Level 1and Level 2 training will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 0-1 years relevant operational experience will be an added advantage.
