How you’ll demonstrate Ownership

The Knowledge Graph business area is responsible for the foundational layers of Cognite Data Fusion. Our work spans the entire user journey, from the initial entry point of authentication and project configuration to the core engines that manage and model industrial data at scale. We ensure the platform is secure and that the underlying data remains accessible and protected.

As a Frontend Engineer at Cognite, you will be a vital contributor to the development of our user-facing applications. You’ll take ownership of core features throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring our UIs remain performant, reliable, and user-friendly. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to help us deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for our users.

The Impact you bring to Cognite

• Implement and refine user interfaces for data management and exploration, ensuring our customers' data is AI-ready through a world-class user experience.

• Maintain high standards for secure, clean code by leading rigorous code reviews and implementing advanced testing strategies and CI/CD practices within your team.

• Work closely with Product and Design to translate complex requirements into technical solutions, ensuring our UIs act as an accelerator for our customers’ use of our products.

• Support the performance, reliability, and accessibility of our applications, by utilizing observability tools to identify and address areas for UX and technical improvements.

• Help identity and resolve technical debt, contributing to modernizing our codebase to keep developer velocity and code quality high.

• Support our component libraries and technical documentation, helping to maintain consistency across the codebase and assisting in the onboarding of new team members.

Required Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining production-grade frontend applications, ideally within data-intensive or complex domains.

• Proficiency in the modern frontend ecosystem, specifically TypeScript and React, with a proven ability to write clean, modular, and well-tested code.

• A solid understanding of frontend architecture and state management, with a focus on applying best practices to ensure application performance and reliability.

• A collaborative mindset, with a commitment to sharing knowledge, participating in peer reviews, and contributing to a positive team culture.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with deploying and monitoring applications in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP), including working with Docker and CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth releases.

• The ability to break down features into actionable technical tasks, effectively managing your own workflow while prioritizing both impact and code quality
