About the Team

The Checkout team is at the very core of Adyen's product offering. We build the most visible part of the payment flow: the final step where millions of shoppers worldwide interact with Adyen every single day. Our mission is to create a seamless, secure and fast payment experience that works flawlessly on any device, anywhere in the world.

We build and maintain the Adyen Checkout SDKs enabling our merchants to accept payments. These open source SDKs consist mainly of pre-built UI components that can be used alongside our APIs to offer a reliable, highly performant, and easily customizable payment flow.

What You'll Do:

• You will help design, build and release our components.

• You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of development. This includes communicating with stakeholders (product owners, product designers, account managers, merchants, e.g.), testing, iterating purposefully, and monitoring the impact of your projects.

• You will work on new features and focus on improving the developer experience of our solutions by working closely with our product team and supporting our operational teams and platforms.

• You will have the freedom to identify and improve parts of the product to make it more consistent, robust, and scalable.

Who you are:

• You're a Software Engineer with four or more years of experience in JavaScript, while knowledge of different frameworks - (P)React and Typescript - is a big plus.

• You have a “team first” approach; you collaborate, discuss and pair up with your team members and other stakeholders to achieve the best solution.

• You recognize yourself in the Adyen Formula: being open-minded, having a proactive attitude, and always trying to make it work while keeping the bigger picture in mind.

• You thrive on constructive feedback, you regularly request it from your peers and don’t shy away from providing them with your feedback.

• You actively share your knowledge and enthusiasm to develop yourself and your team.

• You're comfortable engaging with external developers and parties in meetings as well as public platforms.

• You are curious about other parts of the ecosystem, whether it is backend, mobile or any other platform.

• Experience working on an open source SDK or library is a plus.
