As a Frontend Engineer II, you’ll craft experiences that protect trust and stay ahead of evolving AI-driven challenges, balancing security, usability, and speed at scale.

This is a role where the details matter; one pixel off, one interaction too clunky, and trust erodes. You’ll design experiences that feel invisible when they work- simple, intuitive, and resilient.

What you’ll do

• Build fast, responsive UIs that scale to 100K+ concurrent users.

• Create intuitive workflows for candidates, interviewers, and hiring teams where security feels effortless.

• Develop modular components that power integrity features across multiple HackerRank products.

• Leverage real-time signals to detect anomalies while keeping the candidate experience seamless.

• Collaborate with design, product, and backend teams to ship quickly and iterate often.

Who you are

• A frontend engineer who enjoys solving complex UI challenges with clean, thoughtful code.

• Brings 2-4 years of experience building modern web apps using React (or similar) with solid JavaScript fundamentals.

• Skilled in crafting accessible, responsive interfaces with React + Typescript, modern state management & modern tooling.

• Confident in debugging deeply and optimizing performance across browsers and devices.

• Curious about emerging AI-powered tools and comfortable integrating them into your workflow.

Even better if you have

• Hands-on experience with front-end security patterns like XSS, CSRF, and sandboxing.

• Built for global audiences - handling localization, RTL layouts, and accessibility edge cases.

• Integrated GraphQL or REST APIs, with TypeScript as part of your workflow.

• Used AI or LLM tools to automate dev workflows or boost code quality.

You will thrive in this role if

• You care about the intersection of security, usability, and scale, and know great UX is a technical challenge.

• Product thinking comes naturally: you question the “why,” sweat the details, and build with users in mind.

• Curious about AI and already exploring how to integrate it into your tools, features, or workflow.
