Frontend Developer Contract Banking | Singapore

Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver frontend applications using React (TypeScript, Redux, Routing, Hooks, Context, Suspense).
- Understand business and system requirements and translate them into scalable, stable, and fit-for-purpose technical solutions.
- Tackle very complex legacy defects that less experienced developers cannot analyze or solve.
- Ensure adherence to bank standards, including code quality, security, and performance.
- Participate in the analysis, design, coding, and implementation of complex and custom-built applications.
- Work collaboratively with the team to achieve goals, with experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
- Investigate and resolve production issues to help maintain a stable production environment, remaining calm and effective during crises.
- Analyze requirements, estimate efforts, plan timelines, and manage progress.
- Ensure awareness, involvement, and support from key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on project status throughout its lifecycle.
- Drive and review technical and architectural design, enforce architectural guidelines, and challenge the status quo.
- Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years of software development experience.
- Strong experience in front end development.
- Bachelor degree in Computer science or similar relevant education background required.
- Frontend development with React 18 or newer, including: TypeScript, Routing, Hooks, Context, Suspense, State management solutions (e.g., Redux), CSS
- Affinity for user experience and a keen eye for high-quality UI and UX
- Ability to proactively work with stakeholders across the organization
- Strong computer science knowledge (algorithms, data structures, system design)
- Unit and integration testing
- Familiarity with standard frontend code editors and tools (e.g., Visual Studio Code, Chrome DevTools)
- Basic Linux shell scripting commands
- Familiarity with Git and DevOps systems

Desirable:
- Experience with micro-frontends via Module Federation
- Knowledge of Web Components
- Familiarity with bundler/toolchain (e.g., webpack, vite)
- Advanced CSS expertise
