Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth aged 16-29 through mental health services, social programs, and housing. We operate a Youth Drop-In Centre, offering barrier-free counselling, hot meals, and community programming, and a Transitional Home, providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support.

What You’ll Do:
As a member of the Volunteer Pool, you will be offered ad hoc volunteer opportunities with Friends of Ruby as they arise. These opportunities may include, but are not limited to, administrative tasks and general labour, such as moving and assembling items, or unpacking and sorting large donations.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond in a timely manner to volunteer opportunity postings that you are interested in and available for, or that have been sent to you directly.
Share your weekly availability and any skills that may be relevant to volunteering with Friends of Ruby.
Responsibilities for each volunteer opportunity vary and will be shared with you when the volunteer opportunity becomes available.
What We’re Looking For:
Commitment to social justice, anti-racism, anti-oppression, housing first approach, harm reduction approach, and trauma-informed care.
Strong capability in self-managing workload, priorities, and correspondence.
