Job Description
We are looking for a Freight Broker to drive revenue within a logistics brokerage environment, with full ownership of customer acquisition and freight movement execution.
This role operates within a trucking and brokerage operation and is responsible for building a book of business, closing new customers, and managing freight from pickup through delivery. The position is critical to generating new revenue and expanding customer relationships. This is a performance-driven sales role with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
Responsibilities
• Generate new business by prospecting and closing shippers requiring freight and logistics services
• Build and manage a book of business through consistent outreach and relationship development
• Negotiate rates with customers and carriers to ensure profitable freight movement
• Coordinate shipments from pickup through delivery, ensuring service expectations are met
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, and customers to manage active loads and resolve issues
• Identify and secure capacity by sourcing carriers and maintaining strong carrier relationships
• Track loads, margins, and performance to ensure profitability and operational efficiency
• Handle day-to-day brokerage operations including quoting, booking, and load management
• Maintain accurate records of customer accounts, pricing, and shipment activity
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or transportation sales
• Proven ability to generate new business and close deals within a brokerage environment
• Experience building or managing a book of business preferred
• Strong understanding of freight markets, carrier operations, and pricing strategies
• Ability to operate independently in a commission-driven sales role
• Must have direct industry experience (non-logistics sales backgrounds will not be considered)
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with a results-driven mindset
• Experience managing freight from quote to delivery preferred
Benefits:
Compensation: ~$72,000 draft (approximately $1,500/week) plus up to 20% commission based on gross profit.
