Freelance Photography Assistant HK

OVERVIEW

Wellcom Worldwide are looking for a freelance photography assistant to service a prestigious piece of business working with a global Auction house specialising in fine art at their in house studios.

​​Working as a part of a specialist team photographing high-value artwork and rare artefacts our ideal candidate would have an interest in the fine art market, a “can-do” attitude and great organisational and interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and energetic individual who is able to assist the photographic team with all day to day aspects of running busy studios and who is looking to develop the skills needed to progress through assistant, junior and midweight freelance roles within the team.

This role has the opportunity to evolve to a full time contract for the right individual.

KEY TASKS

Assisting  photographers on both stills and moving image shoots, both in the studio and on locations across Hong Kong

Assisting on pre-production, scheduling and producing.

Learning all aspects of kit preparation, maintenance and repairs

Develop key lighting skills and experience relevant to capturing “best in class” images of art and artwork.

Develop and maintain a working knowledge of both medium format and DSLR camera

systems.

Be responsible for studio maintenance and cleanliness.

Monitoring and maintaining supplies of photographic consumables.

KEY SKILLS

A great attitude to learning and the desire to progress.

Must enjoy working as part of a team, but also have a strong ability to work

independently.

Must be disciplined and able to prioritise tasks without supervision.

Must possess a diligent approach to timekeeping.

Must be available to work extra hours and weekends during peak periods.

Knowledge of Capture One and Photoshop within the Mac environment would

be advantageous, as would any moving image experience.

Ability to communicate and collaborate with wider teams and our clients using Google Suite or Office 365.
