Job Description
About Us
Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.
Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.
About the Role
As an FPGA intern, your primary mission will be to design and develop a radar target simulator on an FPGA. This simulator will allow us to more efficiently and reliably benchmark the system performance of our radar by simulating real-world conditions directly on hardware.
Responsibilities
• FPGA Development: Design, code and validate the radar target simulator on an FPGA development board.
• Signal Processing: Implement digital signal processing algorithms for the simulation of targets and radar environments.
• System Integration: Ensure connectivity and communication between the simulator FPGA and the Sahara radar.
• Benchmarking: Use the simulator to measure system performance and validate new signal processing algorithms.
• Reusability: Code the simulator as a reusable test module, adaptable to other future radar projects.
Candidate Requirements
• Student in a 2nd gap year internship (stage de césure) or final year internship (Master's level / Bac+5) in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing or an equivalent field.
• Understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts.
• Good knowledge of FPGA programming (VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog).
• Knowledge of radar systems is a plus.
• Rigor, autonomy, proactivity and the ability to work in a highly technical environment.
We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
