Founding Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly driven Founding Engineer to join an early-stage AI startup redefining how top talent connects with high-growth companies. This is a full-time, onsite role in San Francisco for a builder who thrives in fast-moving environments and wants to shape product, architecture, and company trajectory from day one.

You will work directly with the founding team to design, build, and scale an AI-powered talent platform focused on discovery, coaching, and high-quality hiring outcomes. As one of the first engineering hires, you will have significant ownership across product development, technical decisions, and infrastructure.

This role is ideal for an engineer who wants to operate with autonomy, ship quickly, and contribute to a talent-first future of recruiting.

What You’ll Do

• Architect, build, and ship core product features across the full stack
• Develop AI-powered workflows that improve candidate discovery and matching
• Design scalable backend systems and APIs
• Build intuitive, high-performance frontend user experiences
• Collaborate closely with founders on product strategy and technical roadmap
• Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate based on user feedback
• Own deployment, infrastructure, and system reliability
• Contribute to hiring, engineering culture, and long-term technical vision

Requirements:
• Strong experience as a Full-Stack Engineer, Product Engineer, or Startup Engineer
• Proficiency in modern web technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or similar stacks)
• Experience building scalable backend systems and APIs
• Familiarity with AI/ML integrations, LLMs, or AI product features preferred
• Startup mindset — comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration
• Strong product intuition and user-first thinking
• Ability to work onsite full-time in San Francisco
• High ownership mentality and bias toward execution

Ideal Candidate

• Previously worked at an early-stage startup (pre-seed to Series A)
• Experience in marketplace, recruiting tech, or AI-driven products
• Has built and shipped 0→1 products
• Excited about building in-person with a small, high-performing team
