About 1feed
AI agents today can do real things, not just chat, but actually act. But this power lives in tools built for engineers. Regular people will never touch them.
1feed brings that power to everyone. A mobile-first, zero-config app where you tell the system what you need in plain language. One calm feed that replaces scattered apps and handles your tasks and communications. No drowning in context switches or chat threads. They make AI agents work for regular people, not just engineers.
The mission is to remove distractions from people's lives.
1feed is an early-stage, founder-funded startup shipping with a small, senior team. They're looking for a founding product designer who can own the core interface of this product: a handful of screens with huge depth, new interaction paradigms for AI, and a B2C-level bar for craft, and who thrives with high ownership, independence, and daily use of AI tools in a fast, hands-on environment.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
• Designing the core interface of the product: 3-4 core screens with deep, dynamic, system-level complexity (unified feed, detail views, configuration).
• Inventing and refining interaction paradigms for human–agent coordination (beyond chat): steering, feedback, context control, and high-signal, low-noise presentation.
• Working end-to-end from concept to pixel-perfect UI: discovery, flows, systems, and rapid prototyping in Figma and, where useful, in code with agents.
• Driving Phase 1 design for the single-user MVP (email + feed) through to a shippable prototype, then extending to multi-user/team workflows.
• Collaborating tightly with the founder and iOS engineer: pairing, brainstorming, and iterating in real time.
• Clearly communicating and presenting design decisions and trade-offs to the team when needed.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
• Strong consumer product background with shipped, public products in the last 1-2 years, and clear ownership of the experience.
• Portfolio that includes personal or side projects you led end-to-end as proof of ownership and independence.
• Systems thinking: you can design complex, non-linear flows and reason about underlying systems and constraints.
• Technical mindset: comfortable with technical concepts, agents, and dynamic UIs; able to discuss trade-offs with engineers and explain ideas clearly when needed.
• Pixel-perfect execution: strong typography, layout, motion, and polish; portfolio that shows both concept and craft with clear explanations of your decisions.
• Mobile design experience (iOS); comfortable with mobile-first patterns that scale to web and desktop.
• Uses AI tools almost daily for work and fully understands their value for design and prototyping.
• Self-motivated: the work → results loop gives you energy; you don't need a heavy structure to deliver.
• Positive, productive attitude: conflict-free and flexible in collaboration while having and voicing your own opinions.
• Comfortable delegating when the team grows and equally comfortable doing everything yourself in a small team.
• Open to change and new tech: when someone proposes something unexpected, you weigh risks and opportunities rather than defaulting to the status quo.
Huge Plus If You Have
• Experience as a founding or early designer at a startup.
• Background in high-bar consumer products.
• Russian-speaking ability (the team uses it daily; not required).
• Experience exploring ideas with AI/coding agents or advanced productivity tools.
What You’ll Win
• Meaningful equity at the founding designer level.
• Full-time role in London with hybrid flexibility; relocation supported for the right candidate.
• Ownership of the core UX and visual language for a new product category.
• Close collaboration with a senior, product-minded founder and a small, high-output engineering team.
• Long runway and independence: founder-funded with no investor pressure, so everyone has room to think big and ship.
What's Great About This Role
This isn't another chat wrapper or dashboard, but a chance to define how people will work with AI. You'll design 3-4 screens with infinite depth: one feed, a few key flows, and a new mental model for attention and control. The team starts from UX and builds tech to support it, so design leads, not follows. You'll work directly with the founder and engineers, move fast, and own the experience from concept to pixels. You'll shape the visual and emotional direction of an interface that feels calm and grounding, not demanding. The feed will be alive: items appear, transform, and fade like breathing. Agents pulse subtly when working. Imagine the serenity of Bali, the minimalism of Japan, the bioluminescent responsiveness of Pandora as quiet confidence with powerful capabilities behind a tranquil surface. If you love consumer-grade craft, systems-level thinking, and building something new, this role is definitely for you.
