From Terac’s inception, we’ve been fascinated by a single idea: as agent-run companies emerge, they won’t need employees, but they will still need people. Today, humans do most of the world’s work with the help of AI. In a not so distant future, AI will do most work with the help of humans. Terac is the labor marketplace that will power this post-AGI future.

Today, we are an expert network powering frontier research by building the infrastructure layer that makes human labor accessible on-demand. Companies integrate with us via API to access our wide array of research-grade experts. We handle sourcing, verification, screening, and payouts so our partners can focus on building their products.

Over the course of human history jobs have only become shorter and shorter term. In the stone age, you hunted or gathered your whole life. In the industrial era, you worked at one factory for 30 years. Now, on platforms like Uber, people take on dozens of micro-jobs per day. We believe this trend will continue and the need for AI-driven labor marketplaces will only grow.

We've raised $9M from Emergence, SignalFire, Audacious, and Z Fellows. We're looking for founder-mindset engineers to own major parts of the platform as we scale from research tooling into the broader human data economy.

You will:

As a founding operations leader at Terac, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and scaling the company’s core functions as we transition from a research-focused expert network to a broader human data economy platform. Your responsibilities will be broad and high-impact, including:

• Identifying and closing gaps in process, data, and execution, and moving fluidly across functions such as go-to-market (GTM), finance, product, and people operations.

• Owning and executing projects and special partnerships that are critical to growth but don’t yet have a natural home, ensuring nothing mission-critical falls through the cracks.

• Partnering directly with the founders on budgeting, burn, and runway planning to ensure the company’s financial health and scalability.

• Driving cross-functional initiatives from conception to execution, collaborating with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.

• Supporting strategic decisions with analysis, research, and modeling, and providing operational leverage to the founding team.

• Managing customer relationships, onboarding new clients, collecting and synthesizing product feedback, and ensuring seamless adoption and satisfaction.

• Handling core operational functions including legal, compliance, payments, and vendor management as needed⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠.

You are:

• A founder-mindset operator who thrives in ambiguity and is energized by turning chaos into order.

• Experienced in fast-paced startup environments, ideally with exposure to AI, marketplaces, or expert networks.

• Comfortable wearing many hats and moving between strategic and tactical work as needed.

• Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Analytical and data-driven, with strong problem-solving skills and a bias for action.

• Intellectually curious and eager to learn about new domains, technologies, and business models.

• Resilient and adaptable, with a track record of executing in high-growth, high-uncertainty situations.
