We are a team of experienced entrepreneurs who have scaled businesses to 10s of millions of users, 10s of millions in revenue, multiple countries, and 9-digit exits - and we are just getting started. We are backed with € 3 million in equity, even though we haven’t actively raised funding yet – yes, investors are chasing us.

Tasks

The role

As a Founding Engineer (Full-Stack) with a frontend focus, you’ll build Skalar from the ground up together with the rest of the founding team.

While we are providing a world-class professional service to our customers, technology is at our core and you will be an integral part of building it from scratch. Your work will be the driving force behind our revolutionary customer experience, enabled through AI, offering radical simplicity to our customers.

What you’ll own

• Build v0→v1 with the founders; take features end-to-end (spec → ship → measure).

• Ship v1 fast, iterate weekly with real user feedback.

• Hire and mentor junior engineers (if interested); gain leadership experience.

Our tech context (greenfield)

• Prefer boring tech where it matters; innovate where it makes a difference.

• Current stack: TypeScript, Next.js (React), PostgreSQL

• You’ll have a strong influence on tech and product choices.

• Tooling budget for whatever makes you fast. No legacy code to untangle.

Requirements

What you’ll bring

• 4+ years of experience (or standout work or projects).

• Strong Typescript/Javascript React, Next.js skills (App Router experience preferred) and curiosity to learn across the stack.

• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and ORMs (Prisma is a plus).

• Strong command of the NPM ecosystem (dependency management, security, versioning).

• Comfort navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments, high ownership, and self-direction.

• Very good communication skills in English are a must, German is a plus.

• Availability to spend 4-5 days per week in our Munich office.

Nice to have

• Experience in a fast-paced environment (e.g. start-up, scale-up, etc.).

• Product sense: you value DX/UX, performance, and reliability.
