About the Role:
AI Fund is launching a new venture in Generative AI and seeking a Founder in Residence (FIR) to lead it from concept to company. This is a ground-floor opportunity for a technical builder with proven 0–1 product experience to shape, execute, and scale a venture. As Founder in Residence, you will define the product vision, lead technical execution, and serve as the company’s CEO. You’ll apply deep GenAI expertise and product intuition to solve meaningful user problems—working in close partnership with a Product Builder, Technical Builder, and AI Fund leadership. This role demands high ownership, rapid iteration in ambiguous environments, and a founder mindset. What You’ll Do::
• The FIR will work with the AI Fund Leadership Team to launch and scale new businesses from the ground up. If you're obsessed with startups and building exceptional products, this role is for you.
• Work alongside our staff to iteratively research and validate on a problem to solve that can benefit from AI/ML. This includes idea validation, product validation, market validation, and funding validation.
• Design a product and prototype it.
• Set the vision and the strategy of the portfolio company once the idea has been tested and determine MVP.
• If all makes sense, we capitalize the company to help you stand the company up, bring in the best talent, build the product, and get pilot customers.

Required Qualifications::
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a STEM field.
• Strong technical fluency in Generative AI, LLMs, and modern ML frameworks, as well as a deep understanding of the latest trends shaping the space.
• Hands-on experience shipping full-stack, cloud-native applications.
• Demonstrated 0-to-1 product building experience from concept to launch, either in a startup or within a larger company.
• Strong product instincts and decision-making skills, developed through experience as an engineer or product manager.
• Proven leadership experience in a product-driven organization, with a track record of driving innovation, inspiration and execution.
• Comfortable leading in ambiguity and acting with limited information at times.
• Excellent communication skills that inspire alignment and trust.

Preferred Qualifications::
• Previous experience as a co-founder, founding engineer, and/or first product hire.
• Previous experience raising capital or managing investor relationships.
• Prior exposure to early-stage startup environments and the challenges of scaling new products.
• Deep domain expertise in one or more of the venture’s focus verticals.
