WHY WE'RE HIRING

We’re starting to do proserv and need somebody who is experienced in analytics who can get our customers up and running with PostHog super quickly to help further adoption and stickiness.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

A technical and customer-obsessed engineer to lead short-term projects with our customers to get them migrated and using PostHog as quickly as possible. Customers should feel like you are an extension of their team as you work alongside them to make them successful with our product set.

You’ll also need an engineering mindset - whilst most of the role is hands-on implementation of PostHog, we also need you to build and maintain automated migration tooling which will help us speed up the move to PostHog for customers who want to bring historical data, dashboards and other content into PostHog. The tooling you build for customers will eventually become reusable across all of our customers.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You’ll be leading short-term projects (both in-person and remote) with customers who are new to PostHog, as well as those who don’t have the bandwidth themselves to improve their implementation or adopt a new product. It’s your responsibility to make sure that the work is done efficiently and to a high standard, and that you are continuously learning and improving our professional services, tooling and processes along the way.

- Leading migrations of data and other artefacts (dashboards, feature flags etc.) from other solutions to PostHog using a blend of automation and manual hands-on work.

- Building and maintaining tooling to help with managed migrations, removing as much of the manual work as possible.

- Advising customers on the right strategy for monitoring and responding to their user behavior.

- Ensuring that the PostHog SDK has been implemented in the correct way in the service of accurate tracking and data privacy.

- Integrating data into and out of PostHog using our in-product data pipelines.

- Raising any issues or opportunities outside of your project work to the PostHog human responsible for the customer.

- Generally being their favorite ever person to work with in this space, so they keep wanting more of your time!

You’ll need to be an expert on all PostHog products so you can advise the customer on the best way to adopt them.

WHAT YOU WON’T BE DOING

❌  Long-term customer ownership. This is all project-based work.

❌ Contributing to the core PostHog product - the engineering work here is for supporting tooling, not PostHog itself.

REQUIREMENTS

- Strong customer focus - you need to delight customers and ensure they are set up for success long-term with PostHog.

- Prior experience in a similar consulting role for a product in our space.

- Automation-minded. We want to make the move to PostHog as simple as possible, so you’ll need to find and implement automation wherever possible so as to let us scale quickly.

- Experience with SQL/Python

- Willing to travel for onsite work with customers.

Nice to have

- Understanding of best practices when it comes to implementing user-behavior based products (e.g. AARRR)

- Experience deploying and using PostHog.

- Experience optimizing SQL queries for performance.

The compensation for this role is under the "Onboarding Specialist" role.
