About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer at V2 AI, you are responsible for translating customer objectives into deployed, production-ready AI solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

You embed directly within customer environments, working closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to design, build, and operationalise AI capabilities that solve real-world problems.

Forward Deployed Engineers combine deep software engineering expertise with AI engineering, delivery ownership, product thinking, and industry awareness. You operate across the full lifecycle of an engagement from shaping and technically qualifying opportunities through to hands-on delivery and successful adoption in production.

You thrive in environments where problems are not fully defined, balancing speed, technical excellence, and commercial awareness to ensure solutions create lasting enterprise value.

This role is ideal for engineers who want end-to-end ownership from problem definition through to deployed intelligence operating inside customer organisations.

Responsibilities

Customer Outcomes & Engagement

• Own delivery of AI and software outcomes within customer engagements.
• Partner closely with customer Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business goals into technical solutions.
• Embed within customer teams to accelerate delivery, adoption, and value realisation.
• Ensure solutions deliver measurable operational and business impact.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor guiding customers through AI adoption.

Pre-Sales & Solution Shaping

• Technically qualify opportunities during discovery and pre-sales engagements.
• Shape solution approaches aligned to customer objectives and constraints.
• Define architecture direction, delivery approach, and implementation scope.
• Contribute to proposals, technical solution narratives, and Statements of Work.

Engineering & Platform Delivery

• Design and build distributed, cloud-native AI and software systems.
• Deliver production-grade solutions integrating enterprise data, platforms, and AI models.
• Apply modern software engineering, DevOps, and platform engineering practices.
• Establish scalable deployment patterns supporting long-term enterprise adoption.

Solution & Product Thinking

• Apply product and industry thinking to ensure solutions solve meaningful business problems.
• Navigate ambiguity to define clear delivery paths.
• Balance rapid experimentation with production robustness.
• Continuously iterate solutions based on usage and feedback.

Delivery Leadership

• Lead technical execution within cross-functional delivery teams in customer teams.
• Roll up your sleeves and get the job done on your own when constrained to move the customer from where they are today to the next level.
• Support planning, estimation, and prioritisation alongside customer product leadership.
• Identify risks early and drive pragmatic resolution.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to V2 AI’s AI engineering capability uplift.

About You:

• Proven experience delivering AI & Software solutions within enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise working with foundation models and modern AI system architectures, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agent-to-agent workflows, model context protocols, and enterprise AI integration patterns.
• Strong software engineering background, particularly in distributed or cloud-native systems.
• Experience deploying solutions from concept through to production.
• Demonstrated experience in technical pre-sales or solution qualification.
• Strong solution design and architectural capability.
• Experience working closely with Product Owners or business-led delivery models.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous and evolving problem spaces.
• Experience with modern cloud and platform engineering practices.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills across technical and business audiences.
• Ownership mindset focused on delivery outcomes and customer success.
