Job Description
Keystone is a premier economics, technology, and strategy consulting firm built to help companies lead through transformation. As breakthrough innovations reshape industries,
redefine competition and change our society, complex and highly competitive ecosystems emerge. Keystone advises technology leaders, Fortune 100 companies, their legal counsel, and
governments on business, economic, litigation, and regulatory strategy in relation to these innovations and competitive eco-systems. We operate globally from offices in New York, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, London, Dubai, and Washington, D.C.
About the Forward Deployed AI Engineer Role
As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer on the K.AIML team, you will sit at the intersection of AI engineering, product development, and consulting delivery. You will work closely with Keystone’s economists, strategists, technologists, and practice leaders to design, deploy, and operationalize AI-powered tools that support litigation, regulatory, and strategic advisory work.
Unlike a traditional engineering role, this position is deeply embedded with internal teams and clients. You will take early-stage AI concepts from proof-of-concept through productization, support adoption through training and workflow integration, and serve as a technical partner to practices as they deploy AI in high-stakes, real-world settings.
Key Responsibilities
• Build, deploy, and iterate on AI-powered tools across the K.AIML platform, supporting use cases such as expert search, deposition and trial preparation, lead generation, and investigative workflows
• Experiment with new models, techniques, and tools; evaluate trade-offs and make recommendations for production use
• Contribute to firm-wide AI strategy and acceleration efforts, including internal capability building and practice-level planning
• Own AI initiatives end-to-end, including technical design, testing, productization, rollout, and ongoing iteration based on user feedback
• Embed with practice teams (e.g., ISRR, IP, FETS, Investigations) to integrate AI tools into litigation, regulatory, and client development workflows
• Partner with product engineers to translate practice needs into scalable, maintainable AI systems and architectures
• Maintain documentation, roadmaps, and usage guidance to support adoption and consistent use across the firm
• Triage user issues and help prioritize enhancements in collaboration with engineering and product teams
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field
• At least 3 years professional experience building and deploying AI-powered systems or data-driven applications
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience working with modern AI/ML frameworks and large language models
• Experience translating ambiguous user needs into technical solutions in fast-paced, client-facing environments
• Ability to work across disciplines and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Comfort owning projects end-to-end and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
• Interest in applying AI to high-impact problems in litigation, regulation, investigations, and strategy
In addition to annual salary, we provide annual 401k contributions and competitive benefits package. Actual Compensation within the range will depend upon the level the individual is hired into based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
Annual Salary Range
$104,470—$147,037 USD
