Michels Canada is expanding our team and adding a Forensic Scheduler to support our claims and contract management function. In this role, you will analyze project schedules to determine the causes and effects of delays, disruptions, and accelerations. By reconstructing historical project events, you will provide clear, evidence based insights that support claims, litigation, and arbitration, while helping project teams quantify delay impacts resulting from change throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Review contract requirements related to schedule, notice, and delay.

• Develop or validate a logic driven baseline schedule that clearly establishes the critical path.

• Perform critical path and delay analyses, including assessment of discrete delay events and their impacts.

• Support time impact analyses (TIA) and apply other recognized delay analysis methodologies as appropriate.

• Collaborate with project teams, contract management, and legal to document delay events, assess delay responsibility (owner caused, contractor caused, concurrent, force majeure, etc.), and support time extension requests or change submissions.

• Ensure all schedules and associated analyses are defensible, well documented, and suitable for negotiation or dispute resolution processes if required.

Requirements:

• Strong background in construction scheduling for large or complex projects; experience in pipeline, linear infrastructure, industrial, or heavy civil projects is preferred.

• Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6.

• Demonstrated experience establishing critical path logic and performing schedule forensic analysis, including delay and disruption assessments.

• Familiarity with common delay analysis methodologies (e.g. time impact analysis, windows analysis, as planned vs. as built), including industry standards and guidance (e.g., AACE).

• Experience collaborating with contract administration, claims teams, or legal professionals is a significant asset.

• Ability to clearly communicate schedule logic and delay impacts to non scheduling audiences, including project managers, executives, and legal counsel.
