We are looking for a Working Foreman to lead and actively participate in structural steel erection on commercial and industrial construction projects. This role combines hands-on ironwork with crew leadership, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. The position supports a contractor focused on structural steel installation and field execution across active job sites. This is a strong fit for someone who can lead by example while maintaining productivity and jobsite accountability.
Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise ironworker crews on structural steel erection projects
• Perform hands-on installation of structural steel including beams, columns, and decking
• Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and erection plans
• Coordinate daily work activities, crew assignments, and jobsite priorities
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with OSHA and company standards
• Monitor productivity, quality, and progress to maintain project schedules
• Communicate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades on-site
• Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and installation challenges
• Oversee rigging, hoisting, and equipment usage to ensure safe operations
• Maintain accurate daily reports, job logs, and jobsite documentation
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in structural steel erection or ironwork
• Prior experience as a foreman, lead, or crew supervisor in the field
• Strong knowledge of steel erection methods, rigging, and safety practices
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience on commercial or industrial construction projects
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding conditions
