Food Service Associate II (PT, up to 20 hours)

The Role (What You’ll Actually Do)

This is a hands-on, fast-moving role at the center of daily school life.

As a Food Service Associate II, you help make sure students receive meals efficiently, safely, and in a clean, welcoming environment. You’re part of the team that keeps things moving during the busiest parts of the day.

What Your Days Might Look Like

You’re helping meals run smoothly:

Supporting breakfast, lunch, and snack service

Setting up and breaking down service areas

Keeping lines moving and students served on time

You’re part of the prep and behind-the-scenes work:

Assisting with basic food prep like portioning and packaging

Helping transport food and supplies to classrooms or service areas

Supporting inventory organization and restocking

You’re keeping things clean, safe, and organized:

Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces

Following food safety and sanitation procedures closely

Assisting with temperature checks and basic logs (with guidance)

You’re part of the Operations Team:

Jumping in where needed during busy times or schedule changes

Supporting special events or adjusted service schedules

Helping maintain a positive, respectful environment for students and staff

Experience That Helps

Previous food service or cafeteria experience (helpful, not required)

Experience working in a school setting (a plus)

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required

Willingness to complete food safety training
