Hello Chef is scaling its preparation kitchen to support growing meal volumes.
Vegetable preparation is one of the highest-volume and most quality-sensitive parts of our operation. Consistent washing, cutting, and handling are critical to protecting ingredient quality and keeping production running smoothly.
We’re hiring a Food Preparation PIC – Vegetables to lead the vegetable preparation team on the floor. Reporting to the Food Preparation Lead, you’ll organise daily preparation work, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure vegetables are prepared correctly and ready for production.
This is a hands-on role for someone with strong vegetable preparation experience who values food safety, discipline, and reliable execution.

Ensure vegetables are prepared the right way and ready for production every time.
Accountabilities
1. Vegetable Quality & Handling: Ensure only fresh vegetables are prepared and handled correctly.
• Inspect vegetables and reject poor-quality produce
• Ensure vegetables are washed, cut, and handled correctly
• Escalate quality issues to the Food Preparation Lead or QA
2. Vegetable Preparation Execution: Ensure vegetable preparation runs on time and according to specification.
• Organise the vegetable team and assign daily preparation tasks
• Ensure vegetables are washed, cut, and portioned correctly
• Maintain steady workflow and prevent preparation delays
3. Hygiene & Team Standards: Maintain strong hygiene discipline in the preparation area.
• Ensure the team follows hygiene and food safety procedures
• Maintain clean and organised preparation areas
• Ensure prepared vegetables are stored correctly to protect freshness
Competencies
Vegetable Preparation Skills: Strong hands-on vegetable preparation experience and confident knife skills.
Vegetable Quality Awareness: Recognises freshness and quality issues and protects vegetable shelf life.
