Gallagher Vinyl Products is a leading manufacturer and distributor of premium vinyl products, proudly serving the Delmarva region. Our growing fleet of over 40 vehicles keeps our operations moving and we’re looking for a skilled Fleet Mechanic to ensure they stay in top condition.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our diverse fleet, which includes cars, pickup trucks, Freightliners, F-450s, trailers, forklifts, JCBs, and dingo’s. This position plays a key role in keeping our operations compliant, efficient, and safe.
Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
Maintain service logs and records for all fleet vehicles.
Assist in DOT inspections and ensure all vehicles meet regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections as needed.
Coordinate with vendors or service providers when external work is required.
Maintain a clean and organized shop area.
Respond to on-site equipment issues when necessary.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a fleet, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic.
Knowledge of vehicle systems including diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems.
Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain accurate maintenance logs.
High school diploma or equivalent (technical school training a plus).
Preferred Experience:
Experience with forklifts, trailers, JCBs, and compact equipment (e.g., dingos).
Prior experience with fleet management or tracking software.
