About the Role:
As a Fitter Machinist, you will show up each day with a sense of enthusiasm and commitment to helping ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest quality.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes.

• Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Ensure measurements and components meet required tolerances.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC lathes as needed.

• Undertake materials handling / processing and associated tasks with the emphasis on Safety, Quality, productivity, cost, continuous improvement, delivery and Environmental concerns

• Participate in any required site and training service provider learning, training and skill development

• Ensure compliance to ISO9001 and all Bradken Quality policies and procedures and participate where required in any associated Quality audits

• Assist and work with maintenance and engineering personnel where necessary

• Coaching and mentoring apprentices and junior personnel as required

• Support the Machine Shop with additional tasks as required.

About You:
You will have the enthusiasm and self-drive to work to the highest standard. You will champion safety, mentor less experienced staff, and help deliver great results.

You will also have:

• Formal trade qualification

• 3 years’ experience in a mechanical trade within a manufacturing environment (preferred)

• Knowledge of safe working procedures

• Sound numeric reasoning

• Ability to communicate in English

• Knowledge of process improvement techniques (desirable)
